Walt Disney World Goofy Challenge 2016 Race Report
As in previous years, I want to start this report with a HUGE thank you to the thousands of volunteers that make this race weekend magical. They’re there even earlier than the runners and doing important work like directing traffic, working at bag check, manning water stations, working medical, and handing out medals! There was even one guy volunteer I recognized from my last Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend who was in the same spot every morning greeting and directing runners! Walt Disney World Goofy Challenge Goals 2016
As I’ve been saying for months and months and months, I’m running the Walt Disney World Goofy Challenge this weekend. This will be my fourth time running the Walt Disney World Half-Marathon and Marathon together. The last time I was in Disney World was in 2014, and I ran 4 races in 4 days. This time I’m only doing the half and full. I suppose the biggest challenge for me in this race is that I’m more or less doing it alone. Fall 2014 Training Plan
Who said training was over? Part of me wishes it was… It’s a good thing I wrote most of this before the Army Run! Just because I finished my goal race doesn’t mean training is done! Remember, training for the next race starts at the finish line of the last one!
