Nikujaga Recipe
I stumbled upon the inspiration for this recipe quite serendipitously. For some reason, we had purchased a bag of shirataki noodles. I found it in the fridge and wondered what to cook with it. I noticed a recipe on the back for something called Nikujaga. Apparently it’s a japanese stew typically consisting of sliced beef, potatoes, onions, and shirataki noodles. Shirataki noodles are pretty awesome. Similar to ramen noodles, but made of yam, so they’re gluten-free and way less calories. I have since cooked nikujaga over 100 times. Slow Oats Recipe
Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, I imagine a few people are looking for ways to recover from the binge family eating. I thought this would be a good time to share a clever breakfast that my wife discovered and we have been enjoying for weeks! “Slow Oats” are like oatmeal, but instead of cooking the oats quickly with high heat or boiling water, the oats are “cooked” by soaking them overnight.
