One last review for 2015!
This review almost seems a little redundant because I’m about to publish a 2015 general review. But, there were specifics of December I’d like to comment on separately from the 2015 overall review.
I started the month of December on a cruise. In fact, on December 1 I was on Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, which was one of my favourite ports of the whole trip. I hope to write more about it soon and share more photos. But I did get about 30km of total running done on the treadmill during the cruise, which was a nice way to jumpstart my running after recovering from the New York City Marathon.

After getting home I almost immediately ran the Tannenbaum 10k as the 70 minute “Pacer Elf.” I’m happy to report that I had a chip time of 1:09:48! Only 12 seconds off! Woot!
And as a definitely a highlight of my month, if not my year was a little vacation I had to Quebec City with Sharise. We had been looking forward to this 3-night holiday for a while to get away from it all for a little while. Quebec City did not disappoint! It actually looked like Christmas with lovely fresh snow, festive events, and beautiful Christmas displays. And it was so easy to be a tourist in Quebec City: Almost everyone we interacted with spoke English, it was a domestic flight, you can use Canadian Dollars, and our phones worked pretty-much the same as if we were home. Highlights were the Toboggan Slide Au 1884, Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride, lots of fabulous food, and we saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Sharise treated me to an early birthday present and we went to Sky Spa which I highly recommend to anyone if you’re in Quebec City. We were planning on sledding at Le Massif but there wasn’t enough snow for the luge course. But of course, the biggest highlight for me was spending time with Sharise.
The rest of December was a blur of work and holiday events. Too much food. Not enough sleep. But that’s the holiday season for you!

Well, they year’s over and I didn’t get there, but I made some major progress. I guess loading up on vegetables during holiday dinners
Goal: SLEEP AT LEAST 8 HOURS PER NIGHT
Status: Average 7.23… *sigh*
The graph does a good job of highlighting what happened. I was often pretty good, but a few late evenings/early mornings really drag down that average. It is pretty obvious that I get more sleep during vacation times and weekends.
Goal: Earn 45 PMP PDU’s by the end of 2015
Status: Stayed at 43.5! No new PDU’s
It just didn’t happen this month, at all. That’s unfortunate, especially since at the end of October I had delusions about getting up to 55 PDU’s by the end of the year.
An additional complication is that PDU’s now have to fall in certain categories. The online theory courses I’ve been doing on my lunch hours may not count so nicely anymore. I think I may change to podcasts which I can listen to during my commute.
On to 2016! The Walt Disney World Goofy Challenge is very soon. Then I’m coming out of retirement, again, to lead another half-marathon clinic. The goal race for this clinic is the Mississauga Half-marathon, but I’ll be doing the Chilly Half-Marathon in March too. It would be really nice to get a new PB at one or BOTH of those races.
